week in review: the wretchedness that is jean shopping

I don't know what the weekend holds for us. We haven't planned anything which is kinda nice for a change.

Thoughts from the week:
  • we had some 70+ degree days and it's made me salivate for Fall
  • i love rainy, cloudy days sometimes
  • i miss living with my husband in a home that's ours
  • jean shopping is the opposite of fun
  • when jeans have "whiskers" across the front (those trendy faded lines), it's more like an exclamation point for wide hips
  • crossing things off to-do lists make me feel more productive during my sometimes purposeless days
  • helping my MIL paint her fence isn't as bad as I let on. I get to be outside!
  • I'm too lazy to walk/run my dog anymore so I bike her around the neighborhood
  • this tutorial may change the way I buy jeans forever
  • my favorite part of the week was a date with Jim to Friendly's for a Reeses Pieces Ice Cream Sundae
  • Rugged Wearhouse has great deals if you have the time to look, and a good eye for holes and busted zippers
  • checking my friends' blogs has become a favorite past time
  • as has Scramble. my longest word so far is "teethes"
  • I forgot how much I like quilting
  • if you sit at Starbucks long enough, they'll give you a free Vente Mocha Frappuccino when they make an extra
  • in my next life I'm going to give classes on how to smoothly make a PCS move in the army, and getting the most money out of the government while doing it
  • I can't stop thinking about this afghan and how to make it
So that's my week. I'm off to work on those to-do lists!

Hey- I bookmarked this site a while ago, but haven't used it yet. Maybe it would help with your jeans search?

Good luck! I hate clothes shopping, too.

Ugh, I too hate shopping for jeans. WHO thought those whiskers up anyway???

That link for the hems is awesome. But I still might need some help. How about you travel up and give me a little tutorial! Seriously (kind of) because I considered buying a pair of trouser jeans that were great except for being way tooo long - I would never have considered it but after reading that site I thought perhaps I could hem them myself!

I heart trouser jeans. I heart them even more when my mom hems them for me since I can't sew to save my life.

I wear "work" jeans to the farm with Carhart boots to chop wood and do barn work. But don't tell anyone. Word on the street is I wear things from P. Diddy's new clothing line....

I get really silly on Sunday nights when I've been cooped up in the house too long with my kids and then they finally go to bed.

Can't wait to hear what next week has in store for you! Hope your weekend was a good one!

I have learned that the only way I go jean shopping is at the Gap Outlet and with you! (we better go and stock up before you leave for Texas, they will be a WHOLE lot more expensive if I have to fly to Texas to get them)!

I hope your weekend was great. I'm glad you're enjoying some time to piddle and have some fun before heading off to TX. I just picked up the latest quilting magazine from better homes and gardens and it's fabulous you should check it out. There are patterns for a couple different bags and I think reusable grocery bags (I'll have to double check that one) Anyways...what's the latest project?

You make me laugh! I love those "whiskers" because they make me look like I actually HAVE hips. :) But I am super excited to try that hemming technique, I have just the jeans to try it on. I want to see the afghan, but I can't see to get the pic to load, afghans are the only crafty thing I can do. And um, I guess you can tell, I am way too addicted to Scramble.
