weekend notes: MD

First I wanted to show you the beautiful flowers my MIL gave me for my birthday. Aren't they beautiful?

This weekend was as busy as ever. Jim and I headed to Annapolis for my niece's birthday party. Of course, we first had to drive there. Who says gas prices have anything to do with life? Once we got to my parents (after a quick stop at Chipotle) we enjoyed a little bit of catching up before we all retired relatively early.

Saturday morning began with one of my favorite traditions - breakfast with my dad in downtown Annapolis at our favorite little coffee shop. We even had time for a quick walk down Ego Alley to look at the boats. Then Mom, Jim and I headed to the mall for a little more birthday shopping for me. From Jim:
my very own Nike + iPod! It keeps track of my running times and mileage, uses voices to keep me going (sounds creepy when I type it, but I don't think it will be), and of course, motivates me with music! And my mom helped me pick out a super cute shirt from H&M that I wore to church the next day. Swimsuits for Jim and we were off to Applebees for lunch with Gpa.

We had a little down time before the birthday party for my one-year old niece. My brother's family is known for their energetic (lots of kids!) and fun parties, but we usually have to miss them as we've lived 12 hours away. Not this year! We had a great time and I even got to catch up with some friends I hadn't seen in a while.
Back home for a game of Settlers (Jim handedly beat us) and another early night to bed. The next day we all squeezed into a pew at church and enjoyed a cookout afterwards.

And then again, the drive home. To which I don't remember some of it due to a nicely timed nap.

Instead of heading back to Suffolk, I've opted to spend a few days this week hopping between Jim's place and his sister Carrie's. Never a dull moment for me!

Things to do this week:
  • slow down
  • start working on some more photobooks
  • get new tires for my car
  • enjoy some P.F. Changs with Jim and his classmates
  • maybe get a badly needed haircut
  • and maybe a pedicure while I'm at it... won't that be nice?
