if only i had kids..

Am I really able to say that after last week? Yes! Because if I did, I'd be tempted to make these. It's another one of Martha Stewart's Crafts of the Day. Who knew potatoes could create such cuteness? The video introduces four fun women who've made a business out of their creativity (Potato Prints) and make it look super easy.

Did you see the ladybugs?? Watch out. If you have a kid anytime soon, you might find one of these homemade creations in your mailbox.

Um, just kidding. But if you make one (I'm talking to you, Jen) PLEASE share pictures!

That was enough to almost make me reproduce again.

Almost.

Cute, cute, cute.

I'm sure your nephew and nieces at the circus would proudly wear them if you decided to make some of these shirts. :)

I'm back because I took a look see at how to make these adorable shirts. Can I say that I would really like you to post a craft I CAN ACTUALLY DO! Think paint by numbers?

I don't even understand how the potato comes in. Is it sticking to the shirt? Is it used to make some sort of stencil?

How do I carve the potato to "make a smooth edge?" I normally don't have smooth edged potatoes when I cut them to make mashed potatoes. They are often pointy.

Am I making mashed potatoes wrong too??????????????????????????????

I feel so inept.

I have to agree with Rebecca- the shirts are stinkin' adorable but when I took a look see at the directions I was clueless. I always thought that if I could follow directions I could do anything - but I guess Martha wants to take away my crafty self esteem!

if you're willing to try, but thrown off by the directions, watch the video. it makes a lot more sense that way. i promise it's easy!

I was reading the post before this and I like that you looked up how to break into your car on youtube.

And, these are cute. They look like those books illustrated by Eric Carl, or some name like that.

i watched the video and although i'm known in some circles to be "crafty", I think they explain it very well. as soon as i read your post I started thinking about pumpkin potato prints!!! how fun would that be!

not sure if I'll get around to making them, but we'll see. I do have a friend who just so happened to have a baby girl last night... she just might need to have herself a cute little shirt to wear on halloween, you know. i'll let you know if it all comes together!
