Dearest Santa,My lips have been cracked for the last three weeks. Jim used to say I was addicted to the stuff. He had know idea.
This year I will not be asking so much for what I want, as for what a Texan girl needs this Christmas. It may not seem like much. It isn't really. But it will make 2009 a lot more bearable. In fact, if I don't get these things, I can't make any promises about staying off your naughty list next year. Just saying.
Parched,
Karen
It's not even that I'm partial to Bath & Body Works. I just need the thickest lotion money can buy. Oh, and some fancy stuff for for my face, too, please.
If they sold intravenous gadgets that flushed water straight into the arm, I'd go for that. But a handy water bottle will do just fine, thank you. I'm starting to feel badly about all of those plastic bottles. But I m u s t d r i n k w a t e r.... It's like a desert out here.

Try Clinique superbalm moisturizing gloss. Your lips won't get addicted and they will be soft and smooth in no time. Raspberry is pretty neutral when it goes on. And the little tube lasts forever.
I'm trying hard not to linger too long on the first comment...I have a severe lip gloss addiction. I'm currently partial to the Mary Kay Nourishine Lip Glosses, but who can go wrong with Clinique? And raspberry???? Ooooohhhh, come to Happy!
Ah, but anyways...sounds like the dry Texas air is taking a toll on you. Is it dry? Is that the right word? It feels dry here in the Nor'east. My skin itches and is all tight feeling...ugh.
I do hope Santa reads your letter and makes things right so you don't seek retribution for next year....
It's not LIKE the desert, Karen, it IS the desert.
I use mary kay lotion on my face and I like it very much. Would you like some? I would be happy to get you some.
I am a fan of Soft Lips. My very favorite- very light and not greasy. It does give me soft lips!
Hey Karen, Enjoying your blog. Can't wait to see/read more about Germany when you get the time.
My chapstick favorite is Burt's Bees, the original kind. The pomegranet kind is okay, but doesn't give the nice minty tingle of the original.
Angela
Oh dryness. Nothing worse. I comisserate with you up here in dry-furnace-heat Maryland. I might sleep directly in front of Jake's humidifier tonight.
Anyhoo.
My understanding is that Santa DOES read blogs now, so you're probably in good shape for a Christmas Quenching.
Any chance of piping, then filtering the water from the ol' Rio Grande right into your home? Who does that waterway belong to, anyway? The US or Mexico? Wow, how do I not know that?
Stay hydrated...you've got to look dewy in your fabulous dress and accessories!!
Great to catch up with you again:-)
You didn't ask Santa for much- should be able to satisfy your list easily. Sounds like TX heat is taking it's toll on you though. Praying for quick adjustments for you.
I second the Soft Lips and Mary Kays Oil Free Hydrating Gel and/or Intense Moisturizing Cream. I have both and alternate depending on if my skin is dry (gel) or SUPER dry (cream).
Can you tell you are loved daily and by many? I don't know anyone who gets as many comments as you my dear. Hugs, DR
I go through tubes and tubes of chapstick..I usually have one in my pocket, one in my purse and one in my coat. Sometimes I am even unexpectedly reunited with a long lost tube....talk about a sweet reunion! My favorite is Chaptsick's new lip butter...HEAVEN!! But I lost mine after 2-3 days. I also love Chaptstick Flava-Craze. Especially the grape craze!
How about one of those adult sized inflatable pools? While Santa is on a roll, he might as well leave one of those too...
what about moisturizing body lotion?
OIL... I totally recommend Camilla oil.

If that link doesn't work, go to timetospa.com. It's kinda pricey, but lasts a long time and your skin feels great! It's supposed to help you not get stretch marks, but that part is bogus. But for dry skin, it totally rocks.
